So this is for the person who signed up to follow the blog by email sometime in the last day or so.
I’m really sorry, but I was wrong. WordPress does tell me your email address.
I just wanted to say that, and make sure you know, because I’d said it didn’t in the little sign-up box.
So I’m wrong.
It does send me your email in a notification message, and it does record it where I can see it later.
I just wanted to warn you in case it was a thing. Because I’d said I didn’t, and with this blog especially you might actually care, and it seems like I kind of got you to sign up under false pretenses.
So I’m sorry, and I just feel awful.
I really hope this isn’t a big deal. I’m not going to use those emails for anything, or be a dick, but it’s still bad. So I hope you don’t mind, but if you do, I get it.
If you do mind, I hope it helps that I still don’t know who you are.
Basically, when I realized, I panicked a bit in case I’d done something terrible. I deleted the email notification I got from WordPress, and I haven’t looked properly at the screen that has the list of followers. So at the moment, I still don’t know who you are.
So if you’re worried, and didn’t want me knowing your email, then if you want to go and unfollow this again, hopefully it’ll take your address away and I’ll not know it. I’ll stay out of that screen for a few days, just in case.
So just sorry, and totally my mistake.
And everyone else, don’t panic. This was only the single one by email. So it looks like, for email sign-up people, it does send an email address. This isn’t being organized in the background by WordPress like I’d just assumed. But WordPress people, it’s only a username, so I don’t know who you really are.
Anyway, just sorry for all that, and I’ve changed the words on the sign-up thing so now it’s clear.
